Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting
held on 18 January 2016

 

  1. PRESENT: Cllrs Eric Pelter, Stuart Close, Barbara Atkinson, Colin Hall, Ted Lawson, City Cllr Peter Williamson, 2 members of the public and the Clerk Gillian Hodgson.

  2. Minutes of the Parish Council meeting 23rd November 2015 were read and signed as a true record by Cllr Pelter.

  3. Clerk's Report (matters arising): Bus Service 81A/B LCC subsidy removal; 300 survey results returned to City Cllr Williamson, Stagecoach to notify public 56 days prior to any change (01/02/16). Current total subsidy for all 81A/B journeys is £170,000 per annum.

    Vehicle speed through village; proposal to participate with Arkholme and Gressingham PC's towards a WAGtail SpID Speed Indicator Device similar to that at Over & Nether Kellet.

    Burrow Mill Lane degredation of surface & potholes reported again 06/01/16 Ref:115281 reply from Lancashire County Council Public Right of Way BW11 Ref: PRW/109528 confirming it will be inspected as soon as possible. Loyn Bridge, Gressingham closed until further notice.

  4. PACT

  6. PLANNING

  8. Business introduced by Councillors
    "Clean for the Queen" village litter picking Saturday 5th March, meet Whittington Village Hall 09:45 hrs, please wear bright clothing that is suitable for current weather conditions and sturdy gloves for your safety and comfort. If you are able, supply your own litter pickers and strong bin bags. Children must be accompanied by adults. Refreshments available in Whittington Village Hall on completion. It has been noted that dog faeces are in evidence, again, particularly along Main Street. Councillors remind dog owners to please clean up after their own dog has defaecated on public land.
