Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting
held on 2 September 2014

 

  1. PRESENT:

    Apologies were received from City Cllr Peter Williamson and PC Linda Head.

  2. PACT REPORT. The link to local crime figures online www.police.uk Lancashire Constabulary, Upper Lune Valley, enter your postcode. There were no crimes reported during June. Two crimes were reported during July: Burglary on or near Manor Farm and Vehicle crime on or near Church Street.

    Correspondence from Inspector Banks-Lyon, Morecambe Police Station regarding PACT teams attending Parish Council Meetings only if on duty and available during a meeting times. PC Head will endeavour to attend the Wednesday coffee mornings whenever possible.

  3. MINUTES. Minutes of the Parish Council meeting of 22nd July 2014 were read and signed as a true record by Cllr Pelter.

  4. MATTERS ARISING.(Clerks Report) Lune Lane End, Newton, 4 gullies blocked reported ENV329578 work completed. Township Quarry shooting rights proposal: to exchange quarry for land at rear of the village hall, not acceptable to Lord Reay, request to purchase Township Quarry refused by Cllrs. To continue renting land to Whittington Estate at annual rate of £200, to be reviewed in 3 years at the AGM may 2017.

  5. FINANCES. Annual Gardening Competition £180 in envelopes to be handed out at Harvest Supper in September, thanks to John and Molly Long of Burton-in-kendal for their judgements. Budget forecast of accounts. Statement of accounts:- Current account £2,538.85 8th August Sheet No.248: Bonus Saver account £1,138.30 23rd May Sheet No.42

    Cllrs agreed to transfer £1,000.00 from Bonus Saver Account (annual interest approximately £10) to Current Account. Cllrs agreed to support B4RN in Whittington and will donate £500 from S137 funding.

  6. PLANNING: 14/00632/FUL Demolition of an existing conservatory and erection of a replacement single storey rear extension for Mr J. Williams, 4 Manor Farm, Whittington, LA6 2NU Application permitted.
    14/0032/TCA Felling of various trees for Mr John Pinch, St Michael's Church, Church Street, Whittington Application pending.
    14/0070/TCA Remove overhanging branch for Mr Paul Ogden, 1 Rectory Gardens, Church Street, Whittington, LA6 2NS Application permitted.

  7. CORRESPONDENCE: Lancashire Combined Fire Authority - Performance Report and Action Plan

  8. BUSINESS INTRODUCED BY COUNCILLORS: Gullies through Newton and Whittington require clearing.

    The next meeting will on Tuesday 4th November 2014 7.30pm in Whittington Village Hall.
