Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting

  1. PRESENT:

  2. PACT REPORT. No report was available.

    The PACT team will endeavour to attend the Wednesday coffee mornings whenever possible.

  3. MINUTES. Minutes of the Parish Council meeting of 07 January 2014 were read and signed as a true record by Cllr Pelter.

  4. MATTERS ARISING. (Clerks Report) Lune Lane End, Newton, 4 gullies blocked reported ENV329578 cleared and now re-blocked. Cycle Stamping - PC Linda Head and PCSO Sarah Shepherd have funding available to stamp parishioners bicycles at the Village Hall Saturday 12th April 14.30 - 16.30 hrs. Lancashire Superfast Broadband provider BT contacted.

  5. FINANCES. Bank balances: Current Account £1,298.21(sheet 243) Bonus Saver Account £1,133.55 (sheet 40).

    Income for Shooting Rights to the Quarry received from Whittington Hall Estates £200.00 Standing Order Clerks wages £250.00

  6. PLANNING:
    SL/2013/1054 Erection of a saw mill, chipping shed, biomass boiler and ancillary external works for P.Irving & Sons Ltd, Hutton Roof Sawmills, Hutton Roof, Carnforth Cllrs comments noted.
    14/00114/FUL Erection of a 80 metre high wind turbine from ground to blade tip and associated infrastructure at Sunny Bank Farm, Kirkby Lonsdale Road, Arkholme, LA6 1BG Cllrs comments noted.

  7. CORRESPONDENCE: LALC Future meeting date: 23rd March Lancashire County Council Bus Services Consultation update - Removal of subsidies will not be going ahead for evening, Sunday and Bank Holiday bus services at present. Each route to be reviewed individually as contracts are considered for renewal over the next few years. Clerk's and Councils Direct January issue 91. Lancashire Best Kept Village Competition £15.00 entry, Cllrs agreed not to enter this year. War Memorial cleaning undertaken for £50.00.
    Whittington Charities request volunteers from Councillors to be nominated to be trustees - Cllrs Hall and Lawson agreed.

  8. BUSINESS INTRODUCED BY COUNCILLORS: Cllr Lawson noted white paint and turpentine will be required to re-paint the railings, Clerk to contact Lancashire County Council. Potholes reported on Keer Holme Lane and Coney Garth Lane. Fly tipping on Hosticle Lane was reported to the meeting. Cllr Hall is acquiring a bin for dog waste, free of charge and assurances that it will be emptied by Lancaster City Council. Parishioners reminded to seal dog waste in plastic bags.

    The next meeting will on Tuesday 6th May 2014 at 7.30pm in Whittington Village Hall.
    This meeting will include The Annual General Meeting followed by the first Parish Council meeting.
