Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting
held on 29 January 2013

 

  1. PRESENT:

    Apologies for absence were received from City Cllr Peter Williamson and PCSO Annette Hoover.

  2. PACT REPORT. report for November and December:
    One crime reported, the theft of 24 ewes and 48 lambs with dark green markings on shoulder, between 29th June and 1st September. The loss was only realised when the winter headcount was done. Four incidents reported, On 13th Nov a suspicious vehicle was reported but there was no trace of registration given. On 8th Dec icy road reported between Newton and Whittington. On 14th Dec there was a report of tyres being let down of two vehicles. House to house enquiries conducted with nothing seen. Informant asked to call if anything further occurs. On 18th Dec there was a report of gunshots being heard at 3am. Text sent to gamekeeper with no reply.

  3. MINUTES. Minutes of the Parish Council meeting of 6th November 2012 were read and signed as a true record by Cllr Pelter.

  4. MATTERS ARISING. Potholes in Docker have been filled in.

  5. CORRESPONDENCE received: LALC; Localised Council Tax Support; Annual report 2011/12; December newsletter; Agenda for meeting 26th November. Clerks and Councils Direct Issue 84 November LCR magazine Winter issue. NALC; Localising Support for Tax Support; Improving Local Government Transparency. Buckingham Palace Garden Party ballot, Cllr Close agreed to be nominated.

  6. FINANCES.: Current Account £1,503.42 (sheet 229, 9th Jan) Bonus Saver Account £1,124.05 (sheet 36, 23rd Nov).
    Cheques signed this month as agreed by Cllrs:
    Mrs GA Hodgson £200.00 clerks wages and to Bruce Blackburn £48.05 for strimmer maintenance. S137 donations to local charitable groups (maximum annual allocation £1,503.04 thus far PC has donated £930 to floral competition, Village Hall rendering and Royal British. A further £570 donated to North West Air Ambulance £300.00, Wagtail Playgroup and Toddlers £150.00, 1st Arkholme Brownies £70.00 and Wagtail Parish Magazine £50.00 Precept set at a request of £3,300.00. All above agreed by Cllrs.

  7. PLANNING:
    Planning - none this month.

  8. OTHER MATTERS.: B4RN superfast broadband discussed. Chris Condor and Barry Ford to be contacted with the proposal of setting up a village meeting. Cllrs propose to pay annual rent for meetings held in the Village Hall. The rate is set at £7.50 per hour, meetings normally take 2 hours. Clerk to report potholes in Whittington and the fencing that has been knocked down at the end of the footpath coming from the church to the school corner.
    The next meeting will on Tuesday 5th March 2013, 7.30pm in Whittington Village Hall.
