PACT a late report was received for Nov/Dec
Crimes: On 31st Dec a break-in was reported, with front door left open and house ransacked. The occupants had left the day before to go away for New Year. Many electrical items and jewellry were taken. Many other expensive items were not taken. Investigation ongoing.
Incidents: On 8th Dec a farmer reported that he had found sheep hurdles tied to all the gates of his fields down a long track near the river. He believes that this appears to be an attempt to steal all his and others sheep in the area, which must have been disturbed, leaving in haste without the hurdles. Please report ANY suspicious behaviour.
On 18th Dec cows and a bull were reported to be on the road at Newton but had gone by the time a patrol arrived.
During the first two weeks of January local officers working with officers from North Yorkshire and Cumbria on overnight rural crime operation.
