THE MINUTES of the last meeting were agreed and signed.
POLICE REPORT: PCSO Hoover reported two thefts of heating oil and red diesel on the same night from neighbouring properties in the parish.
In the general area scrap metal is also being targeted by thieves. PC Humphrey and PCSO Hoover are setting up a farmwatch scheme; any farmers interested should contact them.
MATTERS ARISING: The railings' painter is covered by the Council's own insurance policy.
No further communication received from the City or County Council about the footway. Clerk to approach them again.
No village scale map of the sewage system showing manholes is available. WPC will produce one for the file.
CORRESPONDENCE: Various items received and noted including a brochure showing the work of the charity 'Vitalise' discussed at the last meeting.
The draft Parish Charter had been circulated for comment as had the consultation document for the Inspection of Contaminated Land.
A request for donations and an offer to speak at a meeting received from the Carnforth branch of Age Concern Lancashire. (Ref. Finances)
FINANCES: Current Acc. £1104.54; Bonus savings Acc. £3036.98.
Payments agreed at the meeting: Ch. No. 000334, £533.50(payment for painting railings), Ch. No. 000336, £180.00 (Prize money for annual Floral Competition), Ch. No. 000337 £300.00 (donation to NW Air Ambulance), Ch. No 000338, £100.00 (donation to Age Concern Lancashire), Ch. No. 000339, £6.85, (petrol and eyelets for strimmer)
Transfer of £1000.00 from bonus savings acc. to the current acc. agreed.
OTHER MATTERS:
The village quarry land has been registered in the Land Stewardship scheme.
Clerk to liaise with Mr T Sedgwick to repair/replace worn out notice board in the bus shelter.
Clerk to contact Highways (again) about blocked gullies in Newton and at Cross Corner also flooding at Low Hall corner.
