THE MINUTES of the last meeting were agreed and signed.
POLICE REPORT: PC. Knowles reported on a burglary at Newton Hall Offices. Red diesel has been stolen from around the area. She also gave a brief report on a fatal road accident within the parish.
PCSO Hoover had approached QES about pupils speeding en route to school.
The council passed on the concerns of residents about the number and speed of some of the wide loads passing along the B5264. Work on the pipeline, which is the cause of this traffic will soon be finished.
MATTERS ARISING: Some work has been done on railings. The clerk to ask highways to cut back bushes on the stretch near the Cumbria boundary in preparation for painting next spring.
The loss of the sight line through the railings at Low Hall corner was raised; a new hedge has now grown to obscure the view. The clerk will contact the owners to ask for the hedge to be cut back in the interests of road safety.
CORRESPONDENCE: Various items received including the route of the cycle race on 14th September and advice on licencing laws.
