POLICE REPORT: The level of incidents in the parish has remained low at 8 over the last year. Two have occurred since the last meeting, one building broken into though nothing taken and a car broken into and 2 wallets stolen.
Whittington Races had passed without incident and Councillors agreed that traffic had flowed more easily this year.
Speed Indication Devices (SPID) were explained and discussed. -
MATTERS ARISING: Correspondence from Lancashire concerning Burrow Mill Lane was read. This stated that the lane is an unadopted highway and responsibility for its maintenance,(drainage and surfacing) lies with the frontagers and owners of the land over which it passes.
It seems to be a case of an old highway suffering under today's agricultural traffic. The council can only ask that those responsible do their best to ensure that it remains passable for foot travellers too. The road repairs in Docker are promised within a fortnight.
No estimate yet received for the work under the retaining wall in Church Street. -
CORRESPONDENCE: Various items were noted. Judging for the Best Kept Village competition is scheduled for June. The clerk will request a road sweep and parishioners are asked to note the dates. -
FINANCES: The clerk presented the end of year accounts, which were agreed by the council. Current Acc. £3447.09; Bonus savings Acc. £2252.68 The precept £2750 has been received. Ch.
