MINUTES of the meeting held on 41h May were agreed and signed. -
POLICE REPORT: PC. Winder reported that since 81h May there had been 5 crimes committed in the area, 4 of them in Whittington. They included lights stolen from vehicles, a burglary at Sellet, the theft of a lawn mower from Newton and the theft of a quad bike from a farm. Police have recovered some items and have followed up reports of suspicious vehicles reported to them. PC. Winder introduced the new PACT (police And Community Together) initiative; every month he will speak with a group of representatives from the villages on his patch to discuss topics and issues of concern and highlight priorities for the month. If speeding were the priority he would alert the traffic section which would then target the area. Cllr .Eric Pelter is his contact in Whittington. -
MATTERS ARISING Mr. I Ridding has been approached to repair the notice board at Docker Lane -
CORRESPONDENCE: Various items of correspondence had been received and accepted. In reply to a query as to where P ACT reports might be published it was agreed that Clerk contact the Village website, and Clerk at Arkholme re- their intentions on publishing in Wagtail. -
FINANCES: The current acc. stands at £2,631.07 The savings acc. stands at £2,505.52 Payments made since the last meeting: Ch. No.000254 £83.82 Affiliation fees to LAPTC; Ch. No. 000255 and 000256 £213.35 and £17.99 respectively to Allianz Cornhill for annual insurance. Payments authorised at the meeting: £10 payment to local auditor, Ch. No.000257. £250-Clerk's salary, Ch. No.000258 , £1; replacement for lost, outdated Ch. No.000222, to F. Hall and Son for land upon which to build the bus shelter, Ch. No.000259, £4. to Cllr G. Hodgson in payment for petrol for the strimmer. Ch. No. 000260 Annual Audit return was checked and agreed by the council and signed by the chairman, Cllr. E. Pelter and the clerk. The rates for councillors' occasional expenses were adopted. Grazing Rights - Only half the usual amount of payment for grazing rights to the Town Quarry had been offered, without prior consultation. Council agreed to insist on the full payment of £100 this year and to review the situation before the next due date. -
OTHER MATTERS : Residents at Keerside are having rubbish collected fortnightly, unlike the rest of the parish. This is regarded as a cause of nuisance, and a health hazard in warm weather. Clerk to raise this with the appropriate authority . The meting closed at 9.30pm. The next meeting will be on Tuesday 7th September at 8pm. |
