I have sent the following email to our Whittington Parish Councillors.  If you see any of them about the village can I encourage you to ask them what progress they are making.

Dear all,

Following the recent joint meeting between Gressingham, Arkholme and Whittington Parish Councils I understand that you are looking into the question of providing a minibus service, when we lose our services totally.

Recently, on their Website which you have no doubt seen, The Lancaster Bus Users Group have declared themselves willing to provide support and experience to parish councils who are involved.

In a response to Mark Nelson, a Whittington resident, they pledged “The Bus Users’ Group would be happy to work with parish councils or others in the villages concerned to try and develop ways of providing a service.”

As few Parish Councillors are bus users I do hope that you consider this kind offer of support, particularly as there are only twenty public transport days remaining to solve this problem.
